# What salt is in the air I breathe?

## Answer

The air is pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride — pure salt prepared to a medical and inhalation standard — ground by a halogenerator into a dry aerosol of about 1–5 microns. Particles that small can stay suspended and be inhaled.
